When He Breaks

It is painful, yes it is. It is hard, an excruciating one. It is common associated with tears, with poignant feeling. You know what I’m talking? You’re right, it’s about breaking.

I had a chance to talk to different people regarding breaking. And sure enough, I got one common answer, it is hurting. Though in diverse reasons, whether it’s related to relationship break ups, shattered career, ruined friendship, or related with a thing and the like, there’s always a feeling of sadness, and a sense of piercing the two very sensitive parts of human body, the heart and the mind. It was mentioned also that breaking sometimes unintentional, not planned. But, have you ever wondered what if it’s not a person, a situation or a thing that caused the breaking? What if it’s Him?

I pondered on the stories in the bible related to breaking. Yeah, there are a lot of stories allied to this. And here’s the thoughts that normally speaks up.

1. He breaks with a purpose. Like the potter and its clay illustration, God will break our lives to produce a brand new one. He will let our heart undergo a bypass operation to improve the flow of blood in every single veins of our body, or smash our decaying bones and creates a fresh, strong one. He’ll let our souls experience His double-edged sword, or put into fire to fabricate the best qualities of us. Yes, it is throbbing. But let us be reminded of the goal God wants to do – that is to bring the best in you.

2.He breaks in a very unique way. He made us special, with different, unique qualities. Hence, He breaks us in an extraordinary way, the one that would fit our whole package.

3. He breaks in an organized and creative way. Our Lord is an organized Lord. Like the pattern He sets when He created the world, His artistic techniques in teaching, definitely, He breaks in a very careful way. He cares for us dearly; therefore, He will consider everything about us.

4. He loves us. In a single formula, God breaks us because He loves us, so much.

Our God is so good and great than we can imagine that He breaks us to teach us to trust Him more. And the more we trust Him, the more we can smile.

“But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.” Jeremiah 18:4
